It’s a beautiful, modern restaurant with great food, great service and a great vibe. We were in Norwalk for one night and I’m so happy that we picked this restaurant for dinner. My wife had the duck fat wings and Southern catfish dinner special. I had the watermelon gazpacho special then the roasted beets and sweet potatoes. We loved every bite of everything that we ordered! The crispy brussel sprouts were by far the best we’ve ever had. Dessert recommendations from our incredible server Tessa were just perfect. Her awesome energy combined with a beautiful space and amazing food made this one of the best all around dinners that we’ve had in a long time.
5 stars. It's not my mom's southern fried chicken, greens, and cornbread, but it was very tasty. It was a nice casual but classy atmosphere. Our server was outstanding. The shrimp/andouille sausage hush puppies were good. They had what seemed like a beer batter crust versus a cornbread hush puppy batter, but the filling was delicious. The chicken was fried to perfection. I even liked the coleslaw, and I don't eat coleslaw! I will definitely go back to try the shrimp and grits. This southern transplant may have found her spot!
The team at Greer, especially Alex and Marco made me feel special from the moment we walked in with our group of 10 to celebrate my birthday. Alex surprised us with a private room for our party and we were greeted with a festive Happy Birthday runner and welcome sip of Greer's Bourbon Sweet Tea - tasty and fun way to get things started! We shared one delicious appetizer after another; apple/fig salad, buffalo cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and those tasty Greer chicken wings. How would we ever eat more? Then came their buttery cornbread, followed by our choices of short ribs, fried chicken, roasted chicken and catfish. I didn't partake in desert/coffee, but those who did, loved it. We were never rushed, and were treated wonderfully by the Greer team. Hubby and I were already fans, but you've earned 8 new customers. Thank you for making my birthday celebration extra special.
I really loved the atmosphere! I loved out waitress Jessica P. She was amazing. I loved the seasoning of the chicken and thought the consistency of the corn bread with the sweet butter was delicious! Also the collards & coleslaw were tasty. Wasn’t a fan of the Mac and cheese, I would not consider it southern. It reminded me of velveta ( not your southern baked Mac and cheese ) also not a fan of the brunch potatos. Margarita was on point! Look forward on coming back for dinner
I had never tried this place but I travel ALL over Connecticut for quality food, great seafood, burgers and fries and fine dining. First thought this place had the most WONDERFUL customer service. When I called the gentleman who answered the phone was extremely kind, cheerful and happy. You could tell he loved where he works. Great sign! We ordered salmon with veggies and squash and a burger. Both were delectable and the fries with a seasoning was a tasty treat. Overall some of the best food I have had in a long time. I will be back! I hosted a private corporate party for my team and I could not be more excited to write this review and share how much of a special experience this was for everyone! We had 44 people with every seat full and the best part was the incredible food and service! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you to the entire Greer Southern Table team!
Came here for Sunday brunch. Really great food and service. My son and I had the 4 piece fried chicken with Mac and cheese pluce the soul burger. This is a happy place especially for brunch on a Sunday. Given the snowy weather of the lst few days Greer Southern Table was a welcomed respite. If you are in the Norwalk, CT area go to Greer... you won't be disappointed. Great for friends and family dinning!
My team held a retirement dinner in the private room on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was quiet with a few tables. The private room is beautiful and spacious. The appetizers were delicious! I ordered the ribeye, requested medium well and it was PERFECT! With a side of potatoes. Also ordered regular margarita with salt on the rim. It was so good that I had two! :) I plan to be back very soon!
Just go. Just go. Incredible apps, entrees, desserts and cocktails. The staff was warm, welcoming and very attentive. All wearing smiles and offering assistance and made our birthday celebration exceptional. There was also a great band playing some very familiar tunes. I can’t wait to go back.
UPDATE — A Completely Different Experience Following my original review, Greer Southern Table personally reached out, apologized, and invited us back. We accepted—and I’m very happy to say our second visit completely changed our impression. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and received a genuinely warm welcome from the owners, Greer and her husband, Alexander, and the entire staff. They went above and beyond to make things right, and we are truly thankful. Jessica was once again in charge of our table and was exceptional. Her warmth, humor, and attentiveness made us feel completely at home. She was the bright spot during our first visit and once again proved what a wonderful representative she is for the restaurant. The food was very good, and this time we sat indoors. The restaurant is warm, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, with natural and organic elements that give it real charm and a welcoming, at-home feeling. Looking back, our first experience appears to have been a one-off late-night mishap. What matters is that Greer and her team listened, apologized, and genuinely cared enough to make things right. They completely reversed our initial impression. We will return and are now happy to recommend Greer Southern Table. Our First Experience: We arrived at Greer Southern Table at approximately 7:45 p.m., with the restaurant scheduled to close at 9:00 p.m. Our waitress, Jessica, was excellent from the moment we arrived. She was warm, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made us feel genuinely appreciated as customers. We ordered several appetizers and the catfish entrée as our main course. About 20 minutes after we had already ordered, another family arrived and was seated inside.
